Christopher Banahan (born 4 September 1958) is an Irish painter based in Galway.
Born in Nottingham to Irish parents, Banahan took a first class honours degree in fine arts at Nottingham Trent University in 1981. He went on to take an MA at Goldsmiths College in London and became a Rome Scholar in the British School at Rome in 1990.[1]
Banahan's work has been heavily influenced by Rome, often portraying an 'aged' feel. He has lived in Ireland since 1993, and has received numerous awards from the Arts Council of Ireland. Banahan has also represented Ireland in many international art exhibitions.[2]
